The safety of our clients, their families and our staff is of utmost importance during the COVID-19 Pandemic, as such we have made the following changes to provide a safe environment for those requiring in-person appointments.
To ensure physical distancing is maintained, we have significantly reduced the number of clients that will be seen in person at the clinic. As per provincial standards, we will continue to provide virtual therapy to the majority of our clients.
The client and the adult attending the therapy session will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms the day before the session and at the time of the session. If a symptom is present, the session will be cancelled or changed to virtual if possible.
The client (if possible) and the adult attending the session must wear a non-medical mask consisting of a minimum of 2 layers of materials (preference for 3 layers of material). If the adult is not able to wear a mask, we ask that another adult attend as we will be utilizing a universal masking procedure for the safety of all those at the clinic.
Both the client and adult must wash their hands upon entering the clinic.
Only one adult is allowed to attend the therapy session with the client.
Clients and their families are to arrive at the time of their appointment only and will be let into the clinic at that time (our doors will remain locked between appointments).
There will be no waiting in our waiting room at this time. The adult must come into the therapy session or wait in their car for the duration of the session.
We ask that you bring minimal belongings with you the sessions (leave as much as possible in your car).
We have increased the frequency of disinfection of high touch surfaces within the clinic. All therapy materials and equipment will be cleaned/disinfected following each therapy session. Some equipment that your child is familiar with cannot be used during this time as it is more difficult or time consuming to clean/disinfect.
Our clinicians will be wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the session, this may include a mask, face shield, gown and gloves as per Ministry of Health and regulatory body standards.
Through the use of the above the changes as well as the implementation of several new COVID-19 procedures, we are working to make your child’s in-person therapy session as safe and enjoyable as possible.
